Tunnel Records and Nudie Records present “Musical Power” from Auckland’s Christoph El Truento available for preorder now
Musical Power; Christoph El Truento’s most precise record yet - sparse and detailed in the same breath, where every part, down to the smallest gesture, is doing exactly what it needs to do.
Following Dubs from the Neighborhood and Peace Maker Dub, Musical Power is indebted to the early dub tradition. Warm tape, vintage keys, and melodica echo through the tracks. Each song unfolds as its own journey, and together they trace something bigger. More powerful than accompaniment, music is rongoā, prepared with care, the right amount for a spiritual ailment, healing and uplifting. For such a bold declaration, the sound does the humble carrying, prepared for headphone listening or sound system weight.
